oil sludge recall for 1.8t's

I don't know, there must be some sort of calculation going on in my car's brain, as the 'Service' indicator started flashing at around 10,250 miles, kind of an odd-ball number, so I assumed it was related to the fact that I don't drive this car particularly hard.... As an aside, I find it irritating that Audi did not adjust this 'reminder' to match the 5k/10k/20k/30k etc service intervals..... I did just have the 10k service performed (oil change, tire rotation) but had it done at a local shop since it's not one of my 'free' services with Audi. But now I have to see that reminder every time I start up until my next 'free' service at 15k.....

AoA might have decided fallout from customers might be too great.
Sadly, they might be right.
People might be very suspicious of an oil-change reminder system
that's dynamic, and more importantly, designed by the manufacturer.
