Why do we call it a 'bomb'?

That was too funny.  I'm just boggled by the fact that he picked it up,
looked it over and only AFTER he pressed the button it occurred to him
that it was a bomb.  Yup, that one foot or so of sand would have made a
BIG difference if indeed it was a bomb of that size....chalk up another
one for Darwin.
