Drove a TT 3.2 DSG

Dave,
I had a chance to drive a TT Roadster w/ 3.2 and the DSG on Saturday. A
friend had his A6 2.7tt in to the dealership and they loaned him the TT to
drive while they chipped his A6.
Since it was a convertible I did not have the visibility issues you did. The
shifting was indeed smooth and fast and the exhaust note is fabulous. I did
get a chance to push it a bit in some corners and I loved it, my wife was a
little uptight but she didn't say much. I don't recall shifting up in any
corners but I did shift down twice (entering and part way thru) in a
decreasing radius curve and the car remained very stable. As I came into the
corner (very fast) I braked hard and down shifted and was rewarded with a
very nice bark from the tires. I was still going mostly straight at that
point but I did not expect it to down shift hard enough to bark the tires. I
was also surprised with the automatic down shift on hard throttle but it
worked very well. Even in it's full auto mode the shifting was pretty
aggressive but maybe that was because of how I had been driving it.
Overall I was really impressed with the car but the sticker was close to
$50K, ouch!!
