Ivan;

The sticky stuff that seals the box to the firewall is available at the
dealer. The last time I did a box on my 200q I used dumdum to reseal it - it
makes it easier to get out next time. If the foam strips you are talking
about are the ones that seal the heater core in the box, you can get
automotive adhesive-backed foam weather-stripping in various sizes that
would work for that.

Subject: Heater Box assembly (was: Heater box removal - 93' S4)

Box is out.

Thanks to everybody who helped.
I DID NOT have to remove dashboard. There was 2 air ducts that hold by 1
bolt each.
There was small panel on driver side that need to be unscrewed to get air
duct out.

I crimped water hoses, disconnected them and pulled box out. That was easy
part.
I noticed 2 connectors (red and blue) that wasn't visible from inside a car.
I will have to reconnect them on assembly. They just popped out when I
pulled box...
I noticed cracks on a housing around heater core epoxy glued by Audi
"mechanic" who did repair last time. There was 3 or 4 hidden bolts that
wasn't obvious. Had to buy long screwdriver.

Now back to assembly part. I found sources for blower motor and heater core
(thanks to list members).

Where do I get this foam insulation strips? And what is the sticky stuff and
where do I get that? And what do I use to clean up old sticky stuff?
:)

Thanks,
Ivan
