I've done the repairs on several tanks. However, as others suggested, verify the leak first. It's pretty easy to pull the carpet in the front of the trunk and take the cover off where th lines go into the tank. Check there and under the car for anything obvious. Then, if it is the tank (wouldn't surprise me) it requires pulling the rear diff and I believe some of the suspension. Kneale Brownson did this on his 200 not too long ago. He'd be the expert. Then, there is a product called Kreem. I've used it on several tanks, including a Ranger with many small holes on the top of it. It's been five years on that one, and still holding.
Here's a link for a description http://motorcyclecity.com/Parts/tank-repair.htm
It might take two kits for a tank that big. No BTDT on the fuel cell, sorry.

Hi Guys,
Sorry aboutthe posts here, I'm having a bit of a problem with my computer keyboard. But
alas, I'm finally going whole hog
on my 86' 5KTQ Avant and would like to install a Racing fuel cell in the trunk floor. Originally I
inquired about a fuel leaking problem
That I was experiencing. The situation that I was having was that the car would leak with
anything over $7.00 in the gas tank. The gas would drip out of the tank at idle and when driving
from the center area and when I finally shut off the car it would actually stream out for 3 mins.
After that the leak would stop.
