noisey fuel pump and now a miss.......

hey,
i have had a reoccuring noise from the back end of my 87 5KT for the
past month or so, and now it is all the time and there is a miss when
pulling hard.
i suspect that it may be a failing pump, and thus not having sufficient
fuel flow/pressure.
anyone have simular troubles before.  should i be shopping for a new
pump?

87 5KT with 226000km and uses about 1L/1500km, but the pan needs to be
replaced, as there are about 4 patches on it, and it is always dripping
