  I said i use the 5000TQ antena wire, that plug to the radio to the rear antena.

  What else to do with the unuse cable, let it there.

    Addendum to my original post.
    I dont want to install a power antenna. I will mount a generic whip style,
    pivot base antenna.

    I have received several replies to my post, but none have addressed the
    issue of interfacing antenna cable to the radio.
    Does the radio have a standard antenna input jack in the rear antenna
    position? A standard antenna cable will plug right in?
    What do I do with the front antenna input jack? Just leave it unplugged?
