Thinking of purchasing an A6

Dear all,

I'm new to the list so forgive me if I have the wrong forum for the
question. I'm looking in a few months to but 2nd hand A6 or 5 Series
(sorry to mention that one). I'm looking at around a 2002 model 2.7T
Quattro or 3.0 Quattro, my question is does anyone have any views of the
2 cars, what are they like for servicing and running costs in the UK,
any problems I should look for.
All in all  any info you guys might have would be great.
