No heat in my 5ktq

Depending upon your milage (usually between 100K - 120K) the
blower motor brushes have been known to wear out. If this problem
becomes intermittent, I'd suspect the blower motor brushes.
Easy (temp) fix:
1. Lift up the plastic (it's BRITTLE, watch it!) plenum
cover (it's the big black plastic piece that says Audi in the middle of it),
it's held in place by a bunch of clips.
2. Locate the cylindrical blower motor, driver's side, under the wiper
assemblies.
3. Locate the rubber hose that comes from the blower housing to the
side of the motor, remove hose from the motor end.
4. Using a pencil, eraser end down, gently shove the brush against the
motor commutator. The brush is on a spring loaded assembly, what you're
bending is the bronze holder for the spring. You can spray some TV tuner
cleaner into the hole too, to clean and lube the area.
5. This is good for about a month. It can be repeated, but I don't really
know
the point in which this'll no longer work.
The above procedure got me through a winter of extensive driving until I
could
replace the motor and heater core on my 200Q (which is 4sale, if anyone is
interested. Since the marketplace is down, contact me offline if
interested).
