... I must admit that it sounds a bit backward ... but it is very likely due 
to some sort of an issue with vacuum or the A/C programmer.  Remember that 
turbocharged cars do not have vacuum in the manifold when the engine is near 
or on boost.  If your check valve is bad the vacuum reservoir will not be 
able to store vacuum to control the motors.  Do you hear the motors for the 
vents opening or closing?  Does the air go to different vents?  If you 
don't, it may not be a vacuum problem, but that the motor that drives the 
mixing flap in the HVAC is getting driven incorrectly.  Chris Miller's 
website has a very detailed listing on climate control troubleshooting ... 
as does the Bentley ...
