Nathan,
Sorry I misread the 1:1 ratio and I now that anti-freeze will not freeze in
the Spokane area.
I took my car to them for most services I could not do, from 2000 - 2004,
not every situation ends with a happy face.
I have no problem with you doing the work, most head removals aren't hard,
some just time intensive.
I prefer to do most of my own work, including rebuilding engines, mostly
chevy 350's.
Enjoy the weather. Hope you have a garage, learning is by doing, good luck.
My guess on the weight of the head is probably 50-75 lbs, but Huw would
know.
Al

50/50 is 1:1 which according to the pentosin bottle gives the coldest
freezing temps, which even if it didn’t the coolant would not have frozen
when it was zero outside. Also, how long ago did you work with Appleway
(dealer)? Because I’ve had bad experience with them, including them closing
a garage door on my parents brand new Passat wagon. Anyways; I’m not
looking for anyone to do the work for me, I bought the car to learn how to
do that kind of job.
Nate

p.s. how heavy is the I5 head and will I be able to safely lift it on and
off with the help of 1-2 people?
