type44 voltage check light

For my '87 5kcstq: 3 times in no apparent repeatable
fashion my volt light (white one in checklist; not the
red idiot light) quickly illuminated and beeped. It
would only last for about 2-3 seconds, and I didn't do
anything and it went away. Weird.

A short somewhere? Alt/reg is about 3 years old;
battery is about the same age. I got 2 beeps today;
the other was about 10 days ago.
