hard starting with no dashboard lights

Hi Fay;

Sounds like it may be the ubiquitous bad ignition switch. The switch may be
engaging the starter but not always powering the other electrical circuits.
Just an off-the-cuff Christmas morning guess. Hey, wait a minute, what am I
doing reading my list mail on Christmas morning....

My 95 A6 is getting a little harder to start.
Until recently it started fine.

I noticed tonight because it was so dark that when the engine
is cranking but not starting there are absolutely no lights.

I tried several times and the time it started the lights came on
the dash while I was cranking the engine.

What does anyone suppose is the problem.
