No power on hills - help desperately needed

Hey guys,

I just had my Audi at the muffler shop and he pulled the pipes leading
out of the catalytic converters to check them out.  Both look very clean
from the back end.  He tapped on each and the larger cat on the left
side has a definite rattle inside.  He had no way of knowing whether the
rattle inside was leading to reduced performance and causing my troubles
so now I'm trying to check around and see if anyone in the area can
check a cat to see whether it's in working order. 

I'll keep everyone updated.
