Not front and center.  Rear and center.  Sorry.  If the rear differential is locked it will cause the car to squirrel around as the tow truck pulls it through turns, possibly damaging the rear differential, analogous to the way you shouldn't lock the rear differential on dry ground under ordinary circumstances.  The center differential should never be locked when towing.  In fact, I'd really hate to hear stories about anyone who tried it.
