Gee, sounds just like the A1 and A2 Golf chassis cars, although no one
EVER called the twist beam rear axle "sophisticated". All the same, when I
competed Solo2 with my A2 GTi, the SCCA rules in class did not allow
rear swaybars. However, adding a stiffer front SIGNIFICANTLY improved
turn in (contrary to what would be expected) and transitional response
due to the greater control of front camber. It also reduced understeer
and traction. It would have been better to also add a rear bar, BUT
the rules didn't allow that.
