Well, on inline engines, that's usually the case, because usually all
the exhaust valves, or all the intake valves, or all the valves in the
engine get bent, resulting in 0 compression on all cylinders. In a v
engine, if only one side is out of time, it'll bend just the valves on
that side. Sounds like the cam belt slipped, but just on one side, or
maybe the keyway is goobered up or something.
