I do not have enough fuel pressure to push adequate fuel through the injectors.
The engine jumps when ether is added. Stop the ether and the engine
starves for fuel and dies.
all of the air hoses have been 1. replaced 2. checked 3. and rechecked
i have used the "paper towel tube method" to listen for injector seal
leaks and intake manifold to head "warp" leakage.
I do not have a fuel pressure tester...... YET
I disconnected the fuel lines at the dist., jumpered the pump, and got
fuel flow..... however, the flow seemed slow and air bubbles were with
it constantly. It dies not appear to be a ton of pressure out of the
fuel dist. just seems to roll out slowly... no "geyser effect"
origional problems....
1. spark.... resolved by using proper window on bell housing
2. intake air leak... resolved.... found the throttle body to
intercooler hose aka michilin man lipped out... since resecured it (by
the way I have a bypass valve so am using a different hose than the
stock..... it is a samco)
so.......... I have air , spark, and now all i need is to get the dang
fuel pressure problem solved and BANG! a running engine.
I believe the problem is the fuel distributer!!!
once.... I got fuel seeping from around the gasket between the fuel
distributer plate and the airbox...... not normal.
and I don't seem to get what looks like any substantial pressure on
the top side of the dist.
I do get tons of pressure coming from the fuel supply line going into
the fuel dist.
I cannot possibly think of anything else to say so, SJ, I hope this
helps you out a little with my exact problem.

To see if you have fuel to the injector,
unplug one cylinder 's fuel line on the top of the fuel distr (or
remove one injector and see if fuel come out)
while you jump the fuel pump
push the distr plate with your hand to provid flow.
You can also unplug the cold start injector if fuel goes there (on the
top of fuel distr).
Ðenis
I did it to check mine.

No more spark problems and no more chattering rings on a dry cylinder
wall ..... thanks to all for helping on this rebuild/ restoration you
all have been more than helpful!!!
I have spark
I have a sealed intake system
I have lubrication in the cylinder
I need adequate fuel pressure to actuate the injectors.... so here is
the background:
I have replaced the tank
; the line to the Fuel Pressure Accumulator from the tank
; the line from the F.P.A. to fuel line
; the injectors
; the fuel filter
I have also removed the fuel distributer from the fuel distributer
plate, replaced o-ring
I have replaced all crush washers
I have replaced the cork gasket between the fuel dist. plate and the air box
I have checked for blockage in each Fuel Injector and F.I. supply line
(clear, with nice conicle spray)
disconnected the fuel line after the fuel filter and jumpered the fuel
pump via the relay and got forceful spray
also line from filter to fuel dist. is clear
I truly believe the fuel pump is just fine.
I think my problem resides either in the fuel dist. or maybe one of
the few valves assoc. with it such as the potentiometer, decel shut
off ect....
My lack of familiarity with the technical side of CIS limits my
ability to resolve this issue.
I Need Help
those meters and valves may have no bearing on fuel pressure but I
need to know what to look for and how to check it
thanks all in advance!!!!
