That totally reliable system relies on a hard thread going into an aluminum
thread with a crush washer that should be replaced each time.  If you
overtighten once (or need an oil change midtrip and have to "pay" for it),
you're looking at a buggered up oil pan that might cost way more than $26
to fix or replace.   I got my first one because a PO had cross-threaded the
pan opening.
