Brake Pad Poll....vote, vote, etc.

I ran Axxis(Repco, etc.) Metal Masters on my '85 GTi which I also
Solo2'd. I thought they were junk. Had NO cold pedal response, didn't
brake notably
stronger than other HiPo pads and dusted like crazy. Then again, the Mintek
Metals weren't much better. The only claim to fame was they wouldn't fade,
which helped for a left foot braked Solo car. I found Repco/Axxis
Deluxe (thanks again for the reco, Smitty!) worked fine on my 200Q and
weren't dusty, although
on very heavy high speed use (like doing stupid cut and thrust in the Suburban
NYC area) they didn't QUITE have enough braking. Or that simply could be the
G60's that weren't quite up to the job....

LL - NY (ECS Stage 3 on the S6 and loving 'em)

Also, I've been doing a little research about the cost of SJM's rear brake ideas...unless you really like rear brakes and know someone in the salvage business, I wouldn't place the utmost importance on upgrading them, but you can try and more power to you if you happen to find a set of calipers and carriers. They can be expensive.
