First: Second Ti in not just jumping at parts, though the individual
coils have been a frequent culprit. The codes in this case and the car
trouble seem imtermittent, so "CEL on" shouldn't be too worrisome - it
means that trouble happened but not necessarily continues to exist.
Only a tool can turn it off. I've driven with CEL on after fixing a
vacuum leak for many thousands of kms without trouble (on a much lowlier
VW 2.0 ;o).
Second: Got a VAG-COM and appreciate hearing from someone, who has the
Bentley (CD) with the scanner repair procedures that can be used with
VAG-COM or similar tool. Pondering getting such CD and wondering how
much information beyond common automotive sense does it give - in other
words, is it worth the $70?
Can e-mail personally it so desired, I'm a digest-er.
TIA,
Tihol
