Well, there are two different NG cams and two different MC cams. Both
seemed to switch over about the same time, in late 89 I think. Check
this out.

You'll see that the MC and NG cam are the same. So to answer your
question, yes, if you can pick up a newer NG or MC2 cam, it is a
little better.
