That's because it's neither Torx nor hex (Allen). It is instead a 
twelve point internal wrench commonly referred to as a triple square (3 
*4 = 12). The correct bit is available at most FLAPS as part of a three 
piece set that includes a larger size for head bolts and a small one 
whose use I have yet to discover.
