Fuel filter

Hi Listers ,

I bought an 86 5ktq and I am not able to get the old fuel filter off 
completely. From the tank end I am only able to get the large brass-colored 
piece to come off the old fuel filter. I am not able to to get the brass 
part off of the fuel line. The brass part actually unscrews from the filter 
itself. It is threaded and goes back on but cannot get the last piece off.

One reason I was changing the filter is the hesitation at lower RPMs and 
also an occasional stall with a quick stop. Otherwise runs fine in all 
gears. But If I go too low in the 1000-2000 rpm range and I am not 
acclerating it will buck and heave. Like the first time driving a clutch. 
But if I am accelerating there seems to be no issue.
