You bet. I'm planning on doing that to the urq tank when I get it. I'v also thought about changing it so you could just cap the other line and use an in-tank pump from a 5k or 90q. It's just a matter of free time, which at the moment I have none of.
If there is any interest in this, let me know. If there is enough, I'll work something out for a permenant and easy solution. I'm trying to come up with something that doesn't involve cutting and welding, but nothing but blanks so far. Anyone...........................
In the 5k/90 scenario, however, you would have to modify the tank as well, as the current tank has no outlet on top for fuel, nor a hole big enough for a pump.
However, if you just want to see the "sock" and the problems it causes, look at

Has anyone thought of a kit that we could put to gether that would have glass/plastic window so we could see the fuel before the filter? That way we
could see just how dirty (if at all) the gas is coming from the tank.
