On the 200, and I think the 100 is the same, there is
a large cable that goes from the battery (under the rear
seat) to the starter. In true Audi fashion, this cable
has a splice, found under the passenger side carpet.
That splice corrodes, so you don't get full battery
power to the starter.
Check the voltage at the battery, and also from the
engine compartment remote start post to ground. If
they are not close (0.2V?), that might be part of
your problem.
