More details would be appreciated.
On my '95.5 S6 and my wife's 96 A6 I set up the fog lamps to go on with the
ignition rather than with the low beams. A simple matter of rewiring.
On my '02 A6 things are a bit more challenging as the fog lamp circuit is
built into the headlamp switch. It's relatively straightforward to rewire so
that the fogs can come on with the parking lamps.
However, I really want lights to come on with the ignition and I'd have to
do a larger rewire for this. And, importantly, on the later cars the fogs
are down low, slightly defeating the purpose of DRL.
There's a kit that will provide 60% power to the high beams when the lights
are off, and let them operate normally otherwise. It's about $50, but
requires some minor rewiring. Biggest challenge here is figuring out *where*
to put the kit...inside the headlamp housing or outside. The housing doesn't
have a lot of room inside and it doesn't have a +12V supply independent of
the light circuit, as far as I'm awere...
Also, btw, my ecode Xenon lamps *do* have city lights, but they're pretty
meager, not sufficient for DRL usage.
