Well , that s good.
The ex-owner told me the car was starting very good , cold or hot. But after removed the engine to change the torque converter of the auto tranny the car got problem to start and cant start when cold outside...
I ll try the injector cleaner but i doubt it ll solve the problem.
Now i push one shoot of ether then start hardly but at least it start.
After dinner i ll remove the cold start injector and verify if it spray fuel... i have a spare one.

Hello Denis/all,
I have an 84 4ksq pushing 200K miles. Generally, the car has run pretty well (oh no, I've tempted the Audi gods!). Two winters ago I began having real trouble starting the car in cold temperatures (less than 15F)...it would easily take 5-10 minutes to fire-up...or the battery would just die. I tried all of the "usual" remedies (electrical, fuel adjustments etc.) to no avail. A wonderful set of coincidences this past week seems to have taken care of the problem.
Last Saturday I changed the oil on the car (brrrrrr...), and, as part of a normal additive cycle, I added a pint of Valvoline (SynPower..the type that you're only supposed to use every 12K miles)) concentrated fuel/injector treatment to the gas tank and proceeded to attempt to fill the tank. As it turns out, I couldn't pump more than half the fuel capacity into the tank (according to the in gauge in the car) before the pump stopped. I tried again...pump stopped at half a tank and then quit. I just chocked it up to the Audi fuel gauge sticking. I ended-up "topping-off" the fuel tank again on Monday morning, at the same pump...and got the same result. As it turns out, the pump was bad...I almost ran out of gas mid-week...but then filled-up at a pump that actually worked. Miraculously, by Tuesday morning the car was firing-up nicely on the first crank, just like the old days...in single-digit temperatures. Yesterday morning it was -2F and it only stumbled for a few seconds.
I'd like to think that I inadvertently created a "super-concentration" of fuel/injector cleaner due to the fuel reading issue (I only had half a tank...fuel treatment is "good" for up to twenty gallons), and that this concentration dissolved the varnishes (or whatever) that had formed in the fuel system...most probably the injectors (BTW, I had also swapped-out the cold start valve early-on). I don't know that I would have tried this technique on purpose, but it seems to have worked astoundingly well for me. Let me know if it works. Good luck!

Subject: 200T dont start when cold
Car: 200T 1989 automatic none quattro.
I Noticed too major problems:
1) Hard to start when warm or hot.
- Each time i try to start , the battery seams to go to the floor very easily
-After 5 start the battery is dead
- it does that even with a new battery
Things need to check :
- Big red wire splice under the passager floor, to the starter...
-See if the starter is good enought,,, i have a spare unit.
2) Does not start when cold.
What i tried ?
Add ether before start it. It start hardly but start.
Retrieved fault code.
2312: coolant temperature sensor.
I simulated the sensor with a potentiometer (10k) and resistor (100Ohm) 80ohm when hot, 6k when cold (SJM) (i dont have one right now ,, so )
It s start better but most of the time it does not start when very cold.
I unplugged the battery to reset the fault code but it still there.
The pot on the trottle is very oxided.
Cleaned it, better idling now but still dont start when very cold (-15 to -30C)
I ll follow the Bentley procedure for cold start enrichment.
