LAC! VW gti 20th aniv.

Whereas my experience with my wife's 2002 Jetta GSL 1.8T Tiptronic (almost the same car, basically a GTI with a trunk and 4-doors) has been nearly perfect. We've had it since November 2001 and in that time it has had only 1 "failure" and that was minor only causing a false warning about coolant temp. Other than that, it's just been normal everyday maintenance. The lease is coming up in November (4 year lease) and we are very much considering purchasing the car. It's been great and has also been a lot of fun with the 180hp 1.8T...I can only imagine how much fun a 20AE would be. It seem to me that you either get a really good one or a really bad one. Maybe it's based on the day of the week the car is built?
