I have seen people using brake calliper lacquer
Works well
One pot tends to do a block and is heat resistant and hard as hell

When I had my engine done the first time around, the mechanic simply
used
standard automotive paint. First put on an etching primer. I've seen it
done
before and it last a while if kept clean. Just over the years oil might
flake
it off.
Looking up some powdercoating information recently (especially
wrinkle-texture
powdercoating) and see many people use powdercoating on the engine
blocks. I
intend to go that way.
Send it off for a ceramic coating! :D
