upon closer inspection i found that it was slighlty out of round
either from me screwing with it or it just came that way,So i placed
the donut on the old cat and **gently** tapped it back into shape with
a small rubber mallet(8oz?). seats better but not perfect, but the
leak is now small enough that inpection shouldn't notice. one day when
i have some more time i'll have to get in there and really take a good
crack at it. There may still be some schmutz in the down pipe that's
causing it. Leaks always in the same spot no matter how it turn the
donut/cat. Will update if i get it fixed any time soon.

Thanks all!
Brendan
