CV boot fix on 5kcstq

Hi,
If you are going to change the shaft yourself, here's a couple of tips from
an on the floor mechanic.
1) Get everything together before you start; obvious, isn't it? But, it's
a pita to have to get up, clean up, and go get something or even worse to
have to ride a bicycle a couple of miles to get a part which I've had to do
because the wheel, etc. were already off.
2) Loosen and retorque the hub nut with weight on the wheel; otherwise, you
may damage the CVJ(s). Pay close attention to the torque setting; you can
crush the wheel bearing with an air wrench; I'd use only a hand torque
wrench.
3) Be sure you have extensions long enough to reach the 12 pt bolts. In my
faded memory it's about 36" for practical access to the bolts. You can use
a socket to fit the 12 pt driver; that always stopped me for a little
while.
4) Use brake cleaner or something else to clean the holes on the 12 pt
bolts; they're usually filled with grease and dirt, and I stripped a
couple. If you can, get a couple of extra bolts from a wrecking yard.
Prepare yourself to cuss a lot.
Cheers!
