A8 ECM coding (resolution)

Resolution:
The dealer changed the spark plugs after noting that they were fouled. Car
did not start. The dealer added petrol. Car started. The ECM then coded
itself with a little help via the display of ECM measuring blocks and some
RPM requirements (either idle or 2000rpm).
So, even though I drove the battery to exhaustion, there was no damage to
either the ECM, ICMs, or fuel pump. But for those of you who might make the
mistake of testing fate, remember, a new ECM is more than $2000!
Thanks to all for sharing my pain.

Subject: A8 ECM coding
I had an incident with the serpentine belt. It disintegrated. Then I
decided to drive the car anyway till I got it home (without AC,
brake/steering assist, alternator). I almost made it.
Engine quit running a short time after the 'Battery' icon displayed itself.
Now, after charging the battery, I still can't get it to run. Used starting
fluid, ran ok for a minute, died.
The ECM threw the following codes:
18010 - Power Supply too low (as expected)
18020 - ECM incorrectly coded
Manual says to start car without any throttle movement, wait for adaptation.
I will be doing that today.
Any other suggestion about how to 'code' the ECM ??
