This happened to me and it was clogged/dirty ISV (idle stabiliser valve.) One can of carb cleaner and compressed air into the ISV later and all was well. Easy thing to try, you can pull out the ISV in minutes.

Subject: 5000TQ deceleration and stalling
Hi,
My 1988 5ktq has an intermittent problem where it sometimes stalls upon deceleration. If I "blip" the throttle a couple of times as I see the RPM's heading toward 0, I can avoid this problem. So far, I've disconnected the deceleration valve to no avail. It seems to do this only after the vehicle has warmed up so I suspect it is temperature related.
Does anybody have any ideas of what to try next?
Thanks in advance.
Mike
