I'd wanted to chime in as well. A few weeks ago I posted about a
200q20v available in the SFBay area for $2950 which I'd spotted on
craigslist. I'd checked the market place to see if it was listed there
(nope) and then posted to the main qlist also asking at that time what
was proper etiquette in that situation.

I'd also emailed the seller advising him/her about the Audifans
marketplace. Oddly enough the car was not posted in the marketplace,
hasn't sold, and recently has been reposted to Craigslist.

I'll echo the question someone else posed, what are we supposed to do
when it is a third party whom is selling the car which may be
desirable to a member on the qlist? Should there be a list set up
specifically for 'interesting or notable cars' that we see a party
selling? I know I'd sub to it...

Lastly, to Brett... I do think you've come down a bit too harsh, and
the resulting posts and dissent was not truly worth your personal
satisfaction of banning Joe. While he may have stepped out of bounds
with a personal threat, even I personally have been frustrated by some
of your heavy handed list moderation tactics.

So who's up for setting up that notable/interesting cars fo sale list?
