Still looking for Intercooling heat sensor

Still trying to locate the inter cooler heat sensor as my 1990 Audi TQ  
is giving me Diag code readout that points to a bad heat sensor  not to 
seam to dumb need description (what it looks like) and location of the 
inter cooler and the heat sensor I.e. engine compartment drivers or 
passenger side and all other that would help in locating sensor also if 
any one knows procedure to test sensor .
