taxes, gas prices, VLAC

Not that I want more expensive gas (I'm in L.A.; $2.40
for 87, $2.70 for 91), but have gas prices now
surpassed bottled water or Coke? I'm contemplating
buying the cheapo, then buying bottles of octane
booster to save a wee bit of change.

Anyway, looks like I'll be spending more time on the
Vespa. Tank capacity: 1.4 gallons.
*putt*putt*putt*putt*putt*putt* 

However my '87 5kcstq is getting about 25 mpg
combined--not bad for a leadfoot in a car w/220k mi on
it. It's about the same as my wife's '02 highlander
w/v6, vvt-i, etc.
