Timing Belt Idler Pulley removal is accomplished by using the INTERNAL
threads in the pulley assembly itself to pull it off. I made my own
removal tool by drilling holes in the center and four corners of a chunk of
3/8" steel. See http://www.pbase.com/kneale_brownson/image/22500147
Can't recall the thread sizes, but the idea is you thread an appropriate
bolt part way into the pulley and then tighten the bolts in the corners
against the block to get that baby off there. I can tell you you ain't
going to pry it off. You'll be distorting the pulley itself before you get
it to budge. The bearing/pulley is one assembly and it's a snug fit into
the machined opening in the casting.
