90q What grade of Fuel? / compression

I mix 93 and 87 in a 2 to 1 ratio. Gives me 91 which is what is
recommended in the owners manual and on the fuel filler door. Haven't seen
any performance gains by running straight 93. Have run 87 and 89 and
experienced lower performance, knock sensor is working, I don't have any
perceived knocking. Many places in the country 91 is the highest you can
get which is exactly what you need.
New (similar) subject: I plan on starting on an engine build in the next 6
months or so and am contemplating upping the compression to a max of 11 to
1. My thinking is that if I can get away with 91 at 10 to 1, then perhaps
with 93 I can get away with 11 to 1. I know guys with D series Hondas that
run almost 12 to 1 with 93 and stock engine management.
Feel free to chime in.
TIA.
Dave.

The 90q would have a 2.3ltr NG engine like the one in my CGT with a CR of
~10.1:1...should be using Premium to avoid knock. The NG has pretty weak
pistons that can't take much pinging before melting. But it does have a
knokc sensor, so it SHOULD be ok even on 87, but you will hurt
performance...
