Be very careful, when an ins co totals a car, they are expecting to get
a car. If you remove any items that reduce the salvage value of the car
the ins co will reduce their payout to compensate.
I had a friend who totalled his 4kq, and removed several items such as
radio, the custom exhaust etc, and the ins co cancelled the payoff
check. They then had the car towed to his house and dropped on his front
lawn.
