No question that you need to use care when using power tools.  However, this
will save time and aggravation when done properly.  You definately do not
want to use a punch that tapers to a size large than the hole.  I may have
used a nail or small center punch directed dead center of the pin - started
it with a hammer first.  I forget the details, but I probably duc-taped the
nail-punch to the air-chisel punch, or I may have an air-chisel that fits
properly.  Anyway, after struggling without room to swing a hammer, this
really did the job and I have used it 2 or 3 times since for the same
reason.
