Audi engine specs compaired to Airplane engine - LAC

So I'm building an airplane and I'm probaly going to build my own engine under the watchfull eye of a profesional.
They group their piston rods to with in 2 grams of each other.
In a discussion with another airplane buddy he though that was way over what new auto engine specs are though and have nothing to confirm or deniy his speclutations.
Any of your serious engine builders out there have any comments?
