in defense of CARFAX

In a similar situation, at my old job, Carfax prevented the dealership
from taking a trade-in salvage title Acura that the owner knew was a
salvage title and didn't tell us, making a story about losing the
title, etc.

Carfax is not perfect, but it can still be a useful tool.
