Upgrade from A4 to A6 2.7t

Ok folks, friend of mine has beening trying to put
this crazy idea that I upgrade my A4 18tqa to a more
potent A6 2.7t.  

I've been resisting the urge, but a quick glance at
cars.com and autotrader.com, I've seen 2000 models
with under 100k miles for $12k.  Best one I've seen is
an 02 model with 56k miles for $14.5k.

So the pragmatist in me thinks that I should keep the
mode of transportation that reliably and comfortably
takes me to work and back and to the odd errand every
day while the more ostentatious side of me would very
much like to ride in a German super-lux sedan with 250
screaming horses under-hood, all-wheel drive, coddled
in rich leather and sumptuous creature comforts.  Mind
you, I think I'd have to change the tb on of these
suckers as well.

Can I be talked out of this or has Audi ownership
driven me insane?
