Are you talking about the door moulding that prevents parking lot door ding
damage?
Often when they have been removed, they are warped. Then no double sided
tape will do the job and they'll keep peeling off. I have used a
combination of double sided tape, and black RTV to provide permanent
adhesion, but the trick to getting them in place is to use 2 or 3 well
placed stainless no. 8 x 1/2" screws to hold the moulding flat against the
door. Usually a screw at each end will do, since normally they are bowed
out.
Drill a pilot hole first. Use stainless steel screws, otherwise you will
just be starting a rust problem.
This will do a fine job and be inconspicuous.

Good morning everyone.
I owe everone an apology. I did not describe my door
problem adequately.
The car in question is a 1986 4K CSQ. The black door
strips came off on a couple of the doors. I have tried
the usual two-way sticky tape from the local
auto-parts store, but it does not seem to work. So I
was wondering if there was anyone out that has
experienced this situation as well, and could
recommend a solution. Thanks in advance.
