turbo afterrun pump

Hi guys,

There is a local guy selling an '85 200tqa it's done 285,000kms and is
not exactly pristine, but has an IA chip (running 9psi) on a
smaller-than-stock k24 turbo.
He also tells me he has stolen the afterrun pump to put on his '89. I'm
looking to take it for a blast this avo, but my main question here is:
what effects will running the car without the afterrun pump have? Is it
okay, but need to let it cool down sufficiently after a hard run? Or
will this cook the turbo?
Are the turbos on these water or oil cooled?

Thanks for any feedback guys...

cheers
Duncan
