Grease effects torque values?!

Looking up torque values for my block, I found a little sidenote - "All
values given are for dry threads. Grease, whether it contains copper or not,
SERIOUSLY affects the holding properties of screwed fasteners."

Umm, so how exactly am I supposed to de-grease bolts and bolt holes? Is this
for real? I thought torque values were always given with the fact in mind
that engines are oily by nature...
