200tq axle bolt torque

Hi,

I don't know what the torque spec is for the 200TQ, but I do know in spades
that the torque should be applied with the weight on the wheels. Why?
Because to do otherwise put the torque force on the closest cvj with
sometimes disastrous results. My 5KT was 280Nm/203ft lb which might be
roughly equivalent to 148 ft lb plus 1/4 turn.

No matter, torque it only with the weight on the wheel.

Cheers!

Jim Jordan

I just did this on my S6 (C4 chassis) and the torque spec in
the Bentley was 148 lb-ft PLUS 1/4 turn. The type 44 would be
similar. I would think that it should at least be higher than
147 lb-ft total torque. My old Scirocco was 173 lb-ft.
