4000 Door Handle Issue...

Have you cleaned and relubed the latching device in the doorjamb? I found
that the works in there got gummed up and too resistive for the rods and
levers to work properly. I had the latching assembly off the car and had
to clean it out (I think I used brake cleaner) so I could see what was
going on. After cleaning and spraying in some white lithium grease, the
thing worked smoothly and the doorhandle again could operate it. Now I
respray with lithium grease that includes some teflon a couple times a year.
