Hydraulic reservoir cap leak

Kneale,
I experienced this before, what you're describing. A monkey lad
overtightened the new belt and completely trashed the pump bushing in
several days. When it allowed the shaft to cock in the bore and push the
oil seal to one side, it opened the system to a leak on the suction side.
Fluid didn't leak out, but the air coming into the system caused
(intermittent) loss of power steering assist, and brake assist.  But it
didn't cause the Pentosin fountain, as I recall.
That's the only thing keeping me from that diagnosis at this point. Will
know more when I get home..
